Launching in Q2 2026, MeluXina-AI is Luxembourg’s next-generation supercomputer, designed to meet the demands of advanced artificial intelligence. It extends LuxProvide’s trusted infrastructure into a new realm of performance, offering computing capabilities optimised for AI model development, training, and deployment at scale.
Built for Scale, Flexibility and Sovereignty
MeluXina-AI will be equipped with over 2,100 GPU-AI accelerators, delivering multi-exaflop performance to support large-scale AI model training and inference. Its architecture is designed for:
- Cloud-native and multi-tenant usage
- Secure environments for regulated sectors (e.g. health, finance)
- Compute/data bridges for coupling with external infrastructures
- Full integration with sovereign data platforms and national clouds
This design supports a range of AI workflows, from experimentation to production deployment, and meets the needs of researchers, public bodies, and businesses alike.
A Strategic Investment in European AI Infrastructure
MeluXina-AI is part of a national and European effort to build a trustworthy AI ecosystem. The total investment is estimated at €112 million, with funding equally shared between the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and the Luxembourg State:
- €80 million for acquisition of the system
- €32 million for its hosting and operation over five years
This investment reflects Luxembourg’s long-term commitment to digital sovereignty and Europe’s ambition to become a global leader in ethical, high-impact AI.
Trusted Infrastructure, Proven Security
MeluXina-AI will operate within ISO/IEC 27001-certified and Tier IV data centres managed by LuxConnect, ensuring maximum reliability and information security. The system will be deployed under LuxProvide’s ISO 27001 framework, guaranteeing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
Its integration with sovereign cloud environments such as Clarence enables compliant handling of sensitive and mission-critical AI projects.
AI-as-a-Service and User-Friendly Access
MeluXina-AI will offer a wide range of services designed to make high-performance AI accessible and usable:
- AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) environments with preconfigured development tools
- Support for MLOps orchestration and secure multi-user workflows
- Flexible compute access tailored to individual or organisational needs
- Technical onboarding and optimisation support provided by LuxProvide and its partners
These services aim to reduce barriers to entry and help users move efficiently from prototype to deployment.
Designed for Interoperability and European Collaboration
In line with the EU’s digital policy, MeluXina-AI will be interoperable with other AI Factories and HPC systemsacross Europe. Its architecture supports:
